She was born on April 12, 1873, in Vienna to Samuel and Julia Guttmann.

She married Samuel Winternitz from Nová Včelnice.

Together they had five children: Irma (later Handel), born in 1895; Richard, born in 1901; Lucie (later Präger–Günser), born in 1908; Robert; and Kathe.

Gisela passed away on June 16, 1936, and is buried beside her husband Samuel, who died on February 26, 1942. His grave was marked this year thanks to a project dedicated to marking previously unmarked graves.
