Bedřiška Löwy (1942)

She was born on 5 March 1860 in Podbořany to Alois Schneider and Julia, née Stein.

On 14 August 1878, she married district physician Marcus Löwy in Žatec. Marcus Löwy was born on 28 March 1845 in Kosova Hora and died around 1928 in Žatec. He is also believed to have been buried at the Jewish cemetery in Žatec.

Bedřiška and Marcus had five children in total: Hedwig, born in 1879, later married and became Hedwig Seger; Wilhelm, born in 1881; Ida, born in 1883, later married and became Ida Fink; Marianna, born in 1886, later married and became Marianna Sachs; and Julie, born in 1893, later married and became Julie Black.

Hedwig and Marianna died together with their husbands during the Holocaust in during World War II.

Wilhelm reportedly died around 1916 in Tashkent. Ida died in 1947 in Shanghai, and Julie died in London in 1977.

Bedřiška herself died in Prague during World War II on 17 June 1942 at the age of 82.
