Day of Jewish Heritage Sites 2026
Aug 5, 2026
On Sunday, August 9, 2026, the Day of Jewish Heritage Sites will take place once again.
On this day, you will have the opportunity to visit a wide range of Jewish heritage sites that are usually open to the public only on a 🔒 limited basis.
There are many fascinating places to explore.
During a 🥾single trip, you can visit several nearby Jewish cemeteries and synagogues—for example, the synagogues in Čáslav and Heřmanův Městec.
Many of the sites also offer accompanying events and guided programs. In the Olomouc Region, you can visit the Jewish cemetery in Prostějov, where a guided tour of the cemetery begins at 2:00 p.m. In the Central Bohemian Region, Neveklov offers this year's richest accompanying program, starting on Friday, August 7, and culminating on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. with the lecture Our Neighbours in the Neveklov Synagogue.
In Kolín, both Jewish cemeteries are freely accessible. Ongoing maintenance is carried out there throughout the year, focusing especially on the removal of ivy. Visitors can also explore the Kolín Synagogue.
This year's event marked the ninth edition, and we are already looking forward to next year's special tenth anniversary!

Given the large number of heritage sites that require restoration and maintenance, we welcome any form of financial support.
Sponsor Tombstone Restoration
We select tombstones which are currently in need of repair. Please browse our list and help us restore the tombstones of those without someone to maintain them.
